America’s Essential Hospitals plans to submit comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on the Dec. 20, 2013 proposed rule to establish emergency preparedness requirements for Medicare and Medicaid participating providers and suppliers. The rule proposes to create national requirements that ensure health care facilities are prepared to protect patient safety during natural and man-made disasters and public health emergencies.
The draft comments were emailed to members Tuesday, Feb. 18. We plan to submit comments Tuesday, Feb. 25, and would appreciate member feedback on the comment letter by Friday Feb. 21, by close of business.
