MSSP Application Process Provider Call June 9

Providers interested in learning more about the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) application process should register for the June 9 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) National Provider Call. The call will provide an overview of the materials required for application and lessons learned from previous program year application periods. For the MSSP 2016 program year, providers must create or join an existing accountable care organization (ACO) and submit a notice of intent to apply by May 29. Applications for participation will be accepted from July 1 to July 31.

The MSSP aims to facilitate coordination and cooperation among providers to improve the quality of care for Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries and reduce growth in health care costs. Eligible providers participate in this program by creating or joining ACOs, through which they can share savings with Medicare when they demonstrate efficient care delivery and meet quality performance benchmarks.

Please contact Beth Feldpush, DrPH, senior vice president of policy and advocacy, at bfeldpush@essentialhospitals.org or 202.585.0111 with any questions.
