ONC Asks for Feedback on Interoperability Standards

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has released the draft 2017 Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA) for public comment.

The draft ISA outlines standards and implementation specifications that can be used by the health information technology industry to facilitate the exchange of health information, as well as provide clarity and predictability for the public.

ONC is requesting feedback particularly on questions posed in Section IV of the draft ISA, including questions on interoperability as it relates to social determinants of health and accurate collection of gender identity data. ONC is accepting comments on the draft ISA until Oct. 24,
