MACPAC Highlights Role of Medicaid in Fighting Opioid Epidemic

In a new report to Congress, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) offers insights into the role of Medicaid in responding to the nationwide opioid epidemic.

The second chapter in the report examines how state Medicaid programs respond to the nationwide opioid crisis through treatment, care delivery innovations, and partnerships with other state agencies. See the association’s recent research brief on the opioid crisis for more information on how essential hospitals are tackling this issue.
