CMS Seeks Participants for Medicaid Housing Program

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is looking for states to participate in the 2017 State Medicaid-Housing Agency Partnerships Track of the Medicaid Innovation Accelerator Program (IAP).

The nine-month program assists up to eight states as they forge partnerships between state Medicaid agencies and local housing systems. In partnership with other federal agencies, this IAP track will connect state Medicaid agencies with state housing finance agencies, public housing agencies, and other housing providers to help beneficiaries find housing opportunities.

States interested in participating should email a completed Expression of Interest form to MedicaidIAP@cms.hhs.gov with the subject line “Medicaid-Housing Partnerships” by June 8.

All states are eligible to participate except for the eight that participated in the inaugural track in 2016: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, and Oregon. These states will share their experiences in the program through a webinar series. The first webinar will be held June 6 from 2:30 – 4 pm ET. Speakers from Medicaid and housing agencies in New Jersey and Oregon will discuss how they developed their partnerships, what they accomplished, and lessons learned.
