The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released the following new tools for hospitals participating in stages 1 or 2 of meaningful use in the Medicaid and Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs:
- A 2014 stage 1 changes tip sheet provides an overview of changes to stage 1 meaningful use objectives, measures, and exclusions for the 2014 reporting year. The changes took effect Oct. 1, 2013, for eligible hospitals.
- A stage 2 meaningful use calculator allows eligible hospitals to enter and review their data for each meaningful use measure to determine if they will successfully demonstrate stage 2 of meaningful use.
- A batch reporting guide helps hospital systems use the batch reporting method, which is a new reporting method for 2014. Using this method, systems may submit stage 1 or stage 2 meaningful use attestations from multiple member hospitals in one file using 2014 certified EHR technology.
