The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health created a health equity technical assistance page to help health care organizations act against health disparities. The resources on this page address topics such as data collection and analysis, developing language access plans, improving care for marginalized communities, and personalized coaching to ensure racial equity is embedded in strategic plans.
Highlights from this page include:
- a Mapping Medicare Disparities Tool to identify areas of disparities between subgroups of Medicare beneficiaries;
- a guide for building an organizational response to health disparities, which includes resources and concepts on addressing the topic with staff;
- a worksheet to help organizations develop a disparities impact statement; and
- a list of trainings on using CMS data for research on disparities, sources and uses for Medicare enrollment information, and strengths and weaknesses of current Medicare data.
