National Provider Call: ICD-10 Implementation, Testing

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a Feb. 26 provider call on implementation and testing for the transition to International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition (ICD-10) diagnosis and procedure codes. These codes are used by health care providers and health plans for documenting diagnoses. The call is targeted toward both clinicians and billing staff and will feature a national implementation update. Additionally, the call will feature a discussion of upcoming opportunities to participate in testing, results and lessons learned from previous rounds of testing, and an overview of resources for providers. CMS has also posted ICD-10 testing and other educational resources.
