The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) encourage hospitals to review their July 2022 Overall Star Rating Hospital-Specific Reports (HSRs) before public reporting. Reports are available until June 16.
CMS originally planned to update overall star ratings on Care Compare in April but delayed the update until July due to a calculation error in measure results used for calendar year 2021 public reporting. The July update will include Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating results, measure group score results and weights, individual measure results, and peer grouping. The July 2022 Overall Star Ratings will include a correction to the OP-10 (Abdomen Computed Tomography [CT]-Use of Contrast Material) measure, which will be publicly reported at the same time.
Registered security officials who have been assigned the ‘Auto-Route (IQR)’ permission will receive an auto-route file delivery notification email indicating that HSRs are available for viewing by logging into the Managed File Transfer Dashboard.
Supplementary materials, including the Comprehensive Methodology Report and July 2022 Quarterly Updates and Specification Report, are available to help hospitals interpret their HSRs and understand the methodology used for the July 2022 ratings.
