The Health Resources and Services Administration has launched the registration component of the new Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (OPAIS) for participants in the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

The component enables manufacturers and covered entities to register for the 340B program, participate in annual recertification, and communicate with the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) on pending tasks. OPAIS, which replaces the previous 340B database, also has improved security features and a new dashboard for authorizing officials and primary contacts.

OPAIS also will include a pricing system component; details and a launch date have not yet been announced.

OPA has posted a public user guide and released a recording of the recent OPAIS webinar for covered entities. Covered entities should continue to monitor OPA’s website for updates regarding OPAIS and the annual recertification process, which is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
