The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced that the annual 340B Drug Pricing Program recertification period now will run from Nov. 3 to Dec. 6.

Following technical difficulties with the new Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (OPAIS), HRSA restarted the recertification period for all hospitals. Recertification had previously opened Oct. 24. Hospitals that started or completed recertification during the first period must restart the process.

Hospitals must complete their recertification through OPAIS. Before recertifying, authorizing officials and primary contacts must create OPAIS accounts. Covered entities that fail to create OPAIS accounts and conduct recertification will be removed from the 340B program.

A user guide and other resources, including a webinar on the recertification process, are also published on the OPA website. Questions regarding recertification should be directed to apexusansers@340bpvp.com or 888.340.2787.
