Earlier this month, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released guidance on how it will implement an interim final rule requiring hospitals to report COVID-19 data as part of Medicare conditions of participation. The agency on Oct. 7 began sending hospitals initial letters regarding status of compliance.
Starting this week, HHS’ Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs will host a webinar series for hospitals and other stakeholders with administration subject matter experts to review these requirements and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ enforcement process.
