The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Nov. 15 published a notice in the Federal Register announcing Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAPs) for fiscal year (FY) 2018.
The notice contains state-specific FMAPs, used to determine the amount of federal matching funds for state Medicaid programs; and enhanced FMAPs, used to calculate federal funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program, as authorized under the Affordable Care Act for FY 2016 through FY 2019.
The notice reminds states of disaster-recovery FMAP adjustments for qualifying states and adjustments available for states facing negative growth in total state personal income. No state currently qualifies for such adjustments.
