The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has appointed a new chair, vice chair, and two new members to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC).
MACPAC was established to review Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) access and payment policies and make recommendations to Congress, the administration, and states.
Melanie Bella, MBA, head of partnerships and policy at Cityblock Health and former founding director of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office, will serve as chair.
Charles Milligan, JD, MPH, national dual-eligible special needs plans executive director for UnitedHealthcare Community & State, will serve as vice chair.
The new MACPAC members are Thomas Barker, Esq., a partner at Foley Hoag LLP and former official at the Department of Health and Human Services, and Tricia Brooks, MBA, associate research professor at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University Center for Children and Families.
