eCQM Value Sets To Be Updated for Performance Year 2017

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Library of Medicine will update electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) value sets for the 2017 performance year.

The changes reflect stakeholder feedback and the large volume of changes to ICD-10 in fiscal year 2017. The changes affect eCQMs for the:

  • Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program;
  • Medicare Electronic Health Record Incentive Program for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals; and
  • Merit-Based Incentive Payment System for eligible clinicians.

The changes will be available on the National Library of Medicine’s Value Set Authority Center this month.

For questions, contact Director of Policy Erin O’Malley at or 202.585.0127.
