As part of an $8.3 billion supplemental funding bill to fight COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will use existing networks to award more than $560 million to states, localities, territories, and tribes to accelerate planning and operational readiness. The agency has published a list of CDC funding actions to jurisdictions.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) also issued a frequently asked questions (FAQ) document for state Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) agencies in their response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The FAQ document addresses questions from agencies and outlines resources available to states. For example, the FAQ includes information about when a state plan amendment might be necessary to accommodate revisions to payment methodologies for telehealth costs for individuals who are quarantined or self-isolated.
