Congress Returns From Recess, Eyes Medicaid

The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health held a hearing titled, Making Medicaid Work for the Most Vulnerable, Monday afternoon. The committee intended to identify weaknesses and possible reforms to Medicaid and to highlight the blueprint for modernizing Medicaid released earlier this summer by committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Orin Hatch (R-UT).

House Republican leaders will have a closed door immigration reform meeting Wednesday. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said the House will not take up the recently passed Senate immigration bill, but will use this meeting to discuss moving forward.
