The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a June 24 provider call to discuss the methodology for the Hospital Compare overall star rating. The overall star rating is a composite score of multiple quality measures reported through the patient satisfaction survey, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS). The June 24 call will also cover hospital-specific reports associated with the overall star rating and lessons learned from testing.
