On Feb. 17, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a request for information (RFI) on access to care and coverage for people enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
CMS seeks feedback on health care access, including enrolling in and maintaining coverage, accessing health care services and support, and ensuring adequate provider payment rates to ensure provider availability and quality. CMS hopes to gain a better understanding of enrollees’ barriers to coverage and access to care, and plans to use this information in future policies and regulatory actions.
Interested parties can access the RFI and provide comment online. The RFI is open for a 60-day public comment period beginning Feb. 17.
