CMS Requests Billing Data to Disburse APM Incentive Payments

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released an advisory alerting certain qualifying participants (QPs) in alternative payment models (APMs) that the agency does not have billing information needed to disburse incentive payments to those who are eligible.

CMS compiled a list of QPs with unverified billing information. These QPs, and others who anticipated but have not yet received an APM incentive payment, should complete and submit the 2021 billing information collection form.

Completed forms must be emailed to QualityPaymentProgramAPMHelpDesk@cms.hhs.gov no later than Nov. 1. Incentive payments will be forfeited for the 2021 payment year for claims not received by the deadline.

For questions about submitting information to CMS, please contact the Quality Payment Program Help Desk at 866.288.8292.

Contact Senior Director of Policy Erin O’Malley at eomalley@essentialhospitals.org or 202.585.0127 with questions.
