The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has refreshed quality data on the Hospital Compare website, including results from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) and the Prospective Payment System (PPS)–Exempt Cancer Hospital Quality Reporting Program.
The October refresh does not update overall star ratings, which were last updated in February.
The refresh includes data for:
- patient experience measures, including information from HCAHPS, TRICARE inpatient satisfaction surveys, and the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey;
- timely and effective care; and
- complications and deaths.
Notably, refreshed data for the Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting Program no longer include the “Influenza Vaccination Coverage Among Healthcare Personnel” measure. CMS also updated data for the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program.
