CMS To Host Aug. 15 Forum on Opioids

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a special open-door forum to educate prescribers on federal resources and strategies to combat the opioid epidemic.

The forum, entitled Sharing Federal Strategies to Address the Opioid Epidemic, will focus on safe prescribing and other opioid-related topics. Participants will hear from representatives from federal agencies, including:

  • CMS;
  • the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention;
  • the Food and Drug Administration;
  • the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; and
  • the Department of Health & Human Services Office of Inspector General.

The forum will take place on Aug. 15 from 1:303 pm ET.
