Hospitals now have until Aug. 28 at 11:59 pm PT to submit data on health care-associated infections (HAIs) for the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) program, according to an announcement by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Previously, hospitals had until Aug. 15 to submit their HAI data for the first quarter of 2015 (Jan. 1 to March 31). This extension does not apply to clinical data submissions through QualityNet, including Clinical Process of Care and Perinatal Care Elective Delivery (PC-01) data, which must still be submitted by Aug. 15. CMS cites technical challenges with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network as the reason for the extension.
