The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) established a new office, the Office of Hearings and Inquiries (OHI), to handle marketplace (exchange) consumer complaints and Medicare beneficiary complaints, inquiries, and grievances. OHI will also handle some provider appeals under Medicare. OHI is taking over several functions, such as the Medicare ombudsman, from the Office of Public Engagement, which was abolished. More information is available in the Federal Register.
