An upcoming webinar co-hosted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will outline the agencies’ roles in the expansion of the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) model.
The calendar year (CY) 2017 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) rule finalized implementation of the MDPP expanded model, beginning Jan. 1, 2018. The MDPP expanded model is a behavioral change intervention that aims to prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes among Medicare beneficiaries diagnosed with pre-diabetes, through improved access to community-based interventions.
The webinar also will discuss:
- CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP);
- requirements for pending and full recognition under the DPRP;
- CDC recognition included in the CY 2017 PFS; and
- next steps for organizations considering offering the MDPP.
The webinar will take place from 1 – 2 pm ET on March 22.
