Medicare-eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals now have until March 16 to attest for the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program. The deadline previously was Feb. 28.
Hospitals are required to go through the attestation process annually. This year, for the first time, they must submit data through the QualityNet Secure Portal.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services extended the deadline to provide hospitals additional time to submit attestation data and electronic clinical quality measure data. The agency has posted several attestation resources on its website, including a demonstration video and user guide. CMS has also added a series of frequently asked questions from recent attestation webinars.
