This week, America’s Essential Hospitals is spreading the word about open enrollment to help vulnerable people across the nation understand their options for, and access to, health care coverage.
The association is participating in the Provider and Hospital Week of Action, Dec. 12 – 16, for the 2017 open enrollment period for the federal HealthCare.gov and state-based insurance marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The open enrollment period runs from Nov. 1 through Jan. 31, 2017. Consumers must enroll by Dec. 15 for coverage that begins Jan. 1, 2017.
Understanding that our hospitals serve as trusted community resources among vulnerable populations, America’s Essential Hospitals supports national health insurance enrollment efforts. The association is among dozens of organizations that participate in Provider and Hospital Week of Action each year by distributing information about coverage available under the ACA and highlighting upcoming deadlines.
