These board-approved principles, recently developed by the association’s policy advisory committee, demonstrate essential hospitals’ responsibility to promote equity of care and our commitment to this issue. The principles, which constitute the association’s official position on care equity, also support risk adjustment for sociodemographic status in certain quality improvement measures.
As policymakers discuss improvements to innovative pay-for-performance programs, we urge them
