In a Jan. 30 policy statement, the Biden administration announced plans to end COVID-19 emergency declarations, including the public health emergency (PHE), effective May 11. The determination was first established on Jan. 27, 2020, and has been renewed every three months since.
This wind-down would align with the administration’s previous commitment to give at least 60 days’ notice prior to termination of the PHE.
