340B Recertification Begins Aug. 16

The annual 340B Drug Pricing Program recertification period for hospitals is scheduled to begin Aug. 16. Hospitals will have until Sept. 13 to complete the process.

Hospitals must complete recertification through the Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (OPAIS). Authorizing officials and primary contacts must create their own OPAIS accounts before recertifying. Covered entities that fail to create OPAIS accounts and conduct recertification will be removed from the 340B program. Some enhancements have been made to the OPAIS, but the process of recertification remains the same.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) will hold a webinar on the 2021 340B Drug Pricing Program recertification process on Aug. 11, from 1–2 pm ET. A user guide, additional webinars, and other educational resources are available on the OPA website. Direct questions regarding recertification to apexusanswers@340bpvp.com or 888.340.2787.

Contact Senior Director of Policy Erin O’Malley at eomalley@essentialhospitals.org or 202.585.0127 with additional questions.
