New York Invests in Hospitals to Catalyze Care Improvement

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced almost $900 million in targeted state funding for health care, including $658 million to support 127 health care delivery projects statewide and $200 million to expand emergency departments.

The grants are part of the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program (Statewide IV), which supports work to reduce health care costs, enhance care quality, and improve health outcomes by expanding access to inpatient, primary, preventative, and other ambulatory care services through regionally integrated health care delivery systems. These awards also support projects that help ensure the financial sustainability of safety net health care providers and preserve or expand essential health care services.

The Department of Health will award an additional $950 million in future phases of Statewide IV.
