The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) announced updated Addressing Disparities Research Areas of Interest for the third funding cycle in 2018.
These new areas of interest, which seek to support clinical effectiveness research involving vulnerable populations at risk for health disparities, include:
- improving perinatal outcomes for low-income African-American women and infants;
- diagnosis, initiation of treatment, and retention of African Americans and Hispanics/Latinos along the HIV care continuum; and
- interventions to reduce disparities in obstructive sleep apnea and insomnia.
Applicants can submit letters of intent for awards of up to $3 million in direct costs over a maximum period of three years.
PCORI will release a full funding announcement on Oct. 2 and hold an informational town hall session for interested applicants on Oct. 18, from noon to 1 pm ET. Letters of intent are due Nov. 6 by 5 pm ET.
