A new grant program for internal medicine residents and faculty members will support projects that incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion into internal medicine education and training.
The co-sponsors — the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation — will award a total of $300,000, including $20,000 awards to support implementation projects and smaller awards of $5,000, and $2,500 to support pilot and proof-of-concept projects. The sponsors seek proposals that focus on building trust and targeting diversity at the patient-physician, team, and health system levels.
Letters of intent are due Dec. 10, and selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals in early 2021. Grants will be awarded in spring 2021.
