The Healthy Aging Brain Center – which was launched in 2008 by Eskenazi Health in collaboration with scientists at the Indiana University Center for Aging Research – is a memory care clinic that offers cognitive assessments and personalized treatment to dementia and depression patients and support to primary care physicians. The HABC generated annual net cost savings of up to $2,856 per patient in 2012. According to the study authors, the results demonstrate the HABC not only meets patient and caregiver needs, but also could save billions of dollars if implemented nationwide.
