CAHPS Consortium Seeks Survey Testers

The Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) consortium invites ambulatory care clinics for adults with limited literacy to test a new version of the Clinician & Group Survey (CG-CAHPS) that is easier to read and complete than the current version. CAHPS surveys typically are written at the 10th-grade reading level; the new EZ-CAHPS is written at the 5th-grade reading level using an established methodology.

The CAHPS team will use data collected with the new EZ survey to examine response rates, item completion rates, and reliability of patient experience data. Results will inform a potential new version to the suite of CAHPS surveys accessible to patients.

The RAND Survey Research Group will collect and analyze information; participating clinic responsibilities will be limited.
