The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health seeks input from stakeholders representing or serving communities with limited English proficiency (LEP) to develop a universal symbol for the availability of language assistance services in health settings.
The request for information (RFI) asks about current methods to inform individuals with LEP about the availability of services in their preferred language, their effectiveness, and implementation challenges. The RFI also seeks input on considerations for a symbol to inform individuals about language assistance availability, as well as recommendations for implementation, dissemination, and effectiveness of this symbol.
