WASHINGTON—We thank President Trump for signing the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Advancing Innovation Act of 2019 (PAHPAIA), which will direct more resources to hospitals and other providers on the front lines of disasters and other public health threats.
Essential hospitals, leaders in trauma and burn care, disaster response, and physician training, are vital to the nation’s emergency health care infrastructure. They care for all people and often act as first receivers of those affected by public health emergencies.
The Hospital Preparedness Program, under PAHPAIA, provides vital support to help ease the financial pressure that comes with essential hospitals’ commitment to mission. Congress and the administration have made a wise investment in the welfare of our nation by supporting this important legislation.
