WASHINGTON – “America’s Essential Hospitals urges the Senate to quickly confirm Andy Slavitt as administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). He brings the experience and leadership needed to effectively manage the complex programs on which our nation’s vulnerable people and their hospitals depend.”

“Essential hospitals share Mr. Slavitt’s focus on access to care, patient experience, reducing disparities, and delivery system transformation. As Medicaid and Medicare transition from their first 50 years to the next, these critical aspects of care will be key to continued advances toward the best possible and safest care for all people.”

“We look forward to Mr. Slavitt’s confirmation and to a productive relationship with him and CMS as we build momentum toward broader coverage and improved models of care.”
