America’s Essential Hospitals
WASHINGTON—America’s Essential Hospitals congratulates Tom Price, MD, for his confirmation as Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Secretary Price has an extensive clinical, administrative, and academic background in health care and long experience as a legislator. He was shaped in part by his earlier work caring for low-income and other vulnerable people at an essential hospital—institutions that fill a safety-net role, provide lifesaving services to all, and drive economic activity throughout communities.
As Congress and the administration move toward significant changes to our nation’s health care system, we look forward to working with Secretary Price to ensure essential hospitals can sustain their commitment to disadvantaged people and underserved communities.
