America’s Essential Hospitals
WASHINGTON — We thank House and Senate lawmakers for their swift and bipartisan action to make significant new emergency funding available to essential hospitals and other front-line providers battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
We appreciate Congress’ attention to the pressing needs of our hospitals and the vulnerable people they serve. Our hospitals also applaud the inclusion of demographic data reporting in this legislation to help us understand and respond to the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has on communities of color.
As our hospitals lead the response to COVID-19 nationwide, we will continue working with Congress and the administration to ensure hospitals that care for Medicaid and other low-income patients have the support they need to sustain their lifesaving work.
