FCC Urges Health Care Providers to Promote Affordable Connectivity Program

The Federal Communications Commission created the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) to provide low-income households with up to $75 a month to pay for internet service plans to aid connection to care in our increasingly digitalized health care society. More than 50 million households are eligible for the ACP, yet only 25 percent of those eligible have enrolled, and most importantly, only 13 percent of patients with Medicaid are using the service.

The ACP expands broadband internet access but currently needs help from health care systems to promote utilization. Essential hospitals are encouraged to share this program with their patients. Learn more on the ACP website.
