States have begun distributing and administering their allocated doses of COVID-19 vaccines, but information available through the CDC data tracker shows rollout has varied significantly across the country.
As of Jan. 6, states with the highest percentage of administration based on distribution are:
- South Dakota, which received 45,275 doses of the vaccine and administered 69 percent of distributed vaccines;
- Connecticut, which received 149,900 doses of the vaccine and administered just over 62 percent of distributed vaccines;
- New Hampshire, which received 54,650 doses and administered just over 60 percent of distributed vaccines;
- North Dakota, which received 40,825 doses and administered almost 60 percent of distributed vaccines; and
- Iowa, which received 121,475 vaccines and administered 54 percent of distributed vaccines.
States with the lowest percentage of administration based on distribution are:
- Louisiana, which received 230, 125 doses of the vaccine and administered almost 24 percent of distributed vaccines;
- California, which received 2,057,375 vaccines and administered almost 24 percent of distributed vaccines;
- Alabama, which received 183,900 vaccines and administered just over 23 percent of distributed vaccines;
- Arizona, which received 419,175 doses and administered 18 percent of distributed vaccines; and
- Georgia, which received 514,925 doses of the vaccine and administered just over 17 percent of distributed vaccines.
