A new Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) webpage features resources to help health care coalitions prepare for emergencies.

The webpage offers information from HHS’ Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response’s (ASPR’s) Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE), including:

  • templates for preparedness and response plans;
  • a resource and gap analysis tool;
  • a pandemic checklist;
  • a training video for the health care coalition surge tool; and
  • a disaster pharmacy calculator, which helps hospitals determine whether they have enough medication in stock in case of disaster.

A webinar on Sept. 14 from 1–2 pm ET will provide an overview of these resources, The webinar will feature Melissa Harvey, MSPH, RN, director of the National Healthcare Preparedness Programs at ASPR, and John Hick, MD, with ASPR and association member Hennepin County Medical Center.
