The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) encourages hospitals to preview their July 2023 Overall Star Rating Hospital-Specific Reports (HSRs) before public reporting. Reports are available for preview until June 1.
The HSR report will include the Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating results, measure group score results and weights, individual measure results, and peer grouping. CMS calculated the July 2023 Overall Star Ratings using measure data from the January 2023 refresh and rereleased OP-13 measure data publicly reported in the April 2023 Care Compare refresh.
Supplementary materials, including the Comprehensive Methodology Report and July 2023 Quarterly Updates and Specification Report, are available to help hospitals interpret their HSRs and understand the rating methodology.
