The looming Sept. 30 deadline to fund the federal government for fiscal year 2024 — or to pass a continuing resolution for stopgap funding until negotiators can agree on appropriations — likely will consume lawmakers when they return from August recess next month.
Meanwhile, America’s Essential Hospitals is working to keep a key advocacy priority front and center on Capitol Hill: stopping a devastating $8 billion cut to Medicaid disproportionate share hospital (DSH) funding on Oct. 1. The association has strong bipartisan support in the House and Senate to stop the cut.
As Congress considers these and other issues important to essential hospitals, we encourage our members to join us in Washington, D.C., Oct. 23–24 for fall Policy Assembly. Programming for this event will feature association leaders and congressional staff from committees of jurisdiction, among other issue experts. Policy Assembly also offers rich opportunities to connect with fellow essential hospital leaders and members of Congress.
Policy Assembly registration is free for members of America’s Essential Hospitals. Do not miss the chance to highlight for your congressional delegation the importance of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, Medicaid DSH, and other health care policy priorities — join us for Policy Assembly.
