Funding Available for Telehealth Services in School Clinics

February 26, 2016
Matt Buechner

Hospitals now can apply for funding to expand telehealth services into school-based health centers in rural, frontier, and underserved communities.

The Telehealth Network Grant Program will award up to 20 grants for a maximum of $300,000 annually, for four years, to telehealth networks. These networks may be sponsored by or include hospitals. Applications are due April 8.

The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP) is seeking applicants with innovative approaches to meeting emerging needs in the health care delivery system, with a focus on value and improved health care outcomes. Additionally, ORHP strongly encourages that programs focus on asthma, behavioral health, diabetes, obesity reduction and prevention, and oral health in rural children.
