The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year 2014 Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training for Professionals grant program until June 3. The program seeks to expand the mental health and substance abuse workforce serving children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth who are at risk for developing or who have developed a recognized behavioral health disorder. The program supports internships and field placement for students working toward master’s or doctoral degrees related to social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, psychiatric-mental health, or professional counseling.
Eligible applicants include the following:
- accredited master’s-level schools and programs of social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, or professional counseling that require a predegree clinical field placement in behavioral health
- doctoral-level health service psychology schools, programs, and internships
- community mental health centers and health centers that are either accredited internship programs for predoctoral psychology interns or are collaborating with an accredited school or program
