This webinar was the Essential Hospitals Engagement Network’s kick-off webinar for its health equity improvement work.
As the only Partnership for Patients hospital engagement network focused on vulnerable populations, the Essential Hospitals Engagement Network will work with its members to reduce disparities in care and achieve greater health outcomes for all patients.
Participants in this event learned how to identify potential race, ethnicity and language disparities in health care and heard about successful interventions. Truman Medical Centers and San Mateo Medical Center offered different perspectives on reducing disparities. Truman Medical Centers – which has a mature health equity model – described how they coordinate internal efforts and community initiatives through the CEO perspective, while San Mateo Medical Center, which is just beginning its health equity journey, discussed initial challenges and data collection.
