The Patient Advisor’s Voice in Patient and Family Engagement

During this webinar, participants learned why patient advisors are essential in building partnerships with patients, family members, caregivers, and medical staff. Sharon Cross, LISW, of The Ohio State University (OSU) Wexner Medical Center’s Patient Experience Department, discussed strategies to overcome the challenges a hospital may face when implementing a patient and family advisors program. 

OSU’s Cortney Forward shared her story of becoming an advisor and how the program has provided personal and professional growth, as well as a way to advocate for patient and family members.
