With the 2018 midterm elections a month away, the stakes are significant for those who care about the future of our nation’s essential hospitals. The 435 members of the House and 36 senators that voters will elect this November will play a central role in the future of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, Medicaid disproportionate share hospital payments, hospital outpatient department payments, and the Affordable Care Act.

Participants joined the America’s Essential Hospitals advocacy team for a midterm election preview. They learned how to maximize this unique opportunity to educate congressional candidates about the high-quality care and vital support services essential hospitals provide to vulnerable patients and communities nationwide.
